About 26 government officials
from the ruling party (CCM) have picked up the nomination form for presidential
position where by most of them appeared to be men as usual and leaving women in
uncertainty situation.
We, Tanzanian may be
asking ourselves for this situation happening in our country whether it is the
healthy democracy within the party or aspirants are seeking for publicity? Are they
trying to shape the pubic opinions for party’s interest and survival?
No one might be sure of
the questions that writer trying to ask, but it has to be clear that every
aspirant declare interest and making all sort of promises that they believe
will convince the committee to nominate them.
It is a contradiction
when Tanzanians listen to the people who were and are prime minister, ministers
and deputy minister blaming the government in power, making all sort of
promises that they failed to fulfil and overcome problem which were and still
exist in our country(corruption, embezzlement of public fund, poor education system,
poor economic strategy, low standard living of the people). The question is,
they were not responsible and accountable to Jakaya Kikwete’s government so
that he could be criticized as a man with bad governance? May be but we are not
sure.
This is not the first
time for CCM party to have many aspirants for presidential position where it
can be compared to 1995 election whereby there were 17 candidates demanding to
be nominated for the position while only one women joined the race.
Patriarchy system still
is limit among women to the extent that they cannot participate in politics as
among 26 candidates there are only two women one from Zanzibar and another from
Tanzania mainland.
We can say that,
nothing is impossible under the presence of money because most of the aspirant
within the CCM political party buy airtime in the electronic media and space in print worth millions of shillings to
make their promises public heard that women cannot afford them.
A lot of thing have
been said by those politician and the public were listening to them and the is
no elaboration on how they are going to meet those promises. It is the time to
ask government official on the race “where have you been?” and how are you going
to meet those promises?
Corruption,
embezzlement of public fund, poor economic strategy, poverty, ignorance, diseases,
poor social services, low standard of living and insecurity issue we need to
make a simple analysis on that can direct us Tanzanian toward a good leader for
this rich but poorest country in the world.
WE
CAN'HEALTHY DEMOCRACY OR PUBLICITY WITHIN CCM?T FORGET RICHMOND, EPA, KAMPENI TOKOMEZA UJANGIRI AND TEGETA ESCROW, CCM
were supporting each other to be considered as good political party with
brilliant people. Amazing!
